- Duration: 3 Hours (approx.)
- Location: Granada, Granada

This tour begins with some history at the old cemetery on the edge of town where ornate mausoleums are the final resting place of both the benevolent and notorious figures of Nicaragua. Next, take a 10 minute walk to the Fortaleza La Polvora, a 19th century fort at the edge of the old city where one can peer through the gates at the ruins set amid lush gardens.
You will then walk past colorful colonial homes and churches before stopping at a cigar workshop to watch master blenders at work and receive a short lesson where you can try your hand at rolling one of your own.
Stop for a refreshment at one of our favorite cafes (food and beverage not included).
Iglesia La Merced - Climb to the top of the bell tower to take in 360 degree views overlooking the cities' neighborhoods, Lake Nicaragua, and Volcan Mombacho
El Mercado - Stroll through the market where locals find everything they need and share a Vigoron, a traditional Granadino dish.
Enjoy the lively Parque Central where locals go to relax, for people watching and shopping at one of the colorful stalls selling local handicrafts.
Wander over to Cathedral de Granada for another climb to the tower for views of the Parque Central, Lake Nicaragua and La Calzada
Visit nearby art galleries and a printmaking collective and workshop.
Then to Convento San Francisco with its formal gardens, the Granada history museum, and a collection of monumenal Pre-Colombian volcanic-rock sculptures.
End your tour on La Calzada walking street at about lunch time where many dining choices are available.
